It is known for its iddylic little harbor which goes into the sea and it forms into a beautiful bay where \u03bfn the left side, there is a small palm tree grove. The archaiological site of Sissi is a must together with the cave of Milatos and Milatos fishing village with its beach and the St. George Monastery of Selinari. Sissi is a good base for visiting nearby cosmopolitan Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Spinalonga island to name but a few places. However, with your car rental you can visit the Lasithi plateau with the Zeus cave, Krasi and Mohos before you end up at the archeological site of Malia and the beautiful beach a bit further.<\/p>

Very close destinations are the beautiful villages of Malia, Stalis and Hersonissos with Aqua plus, the Crete golf course, Lihnostatis museum and Labirynth park. In Neapolis you can visit the Amazonas zoo park as in Gouves the Crete Aquarium and the Water city in Kokkini Hani (Anopolis).<\/p>

In Heraklion, a city of culture you can visit the Arheological museum, the Historical Museum, the Natural History Museum, galeries, plenty of historical places like the Venetian fort Coules in the port, the Lions square, the Walls and you canthen\u00a0 shop in\u00a0 small or big stores of European standards.<\/p>

Although the options are many, an excursion that will remain unforgettable without being too far and perhaps tiring is to drive West for a while to visit the Archaeological site of Malia. Right next to it is the beautiful beach of Potamos to enjoy a swim and after having something to eat in the canteen to continue west to the Aquarium in Gournes.<\/p>

After this visit you can continue west and once you reach Heraklion head south to Archanes where you can have lunch in one of the traditional taverns of this traditional village. After the meal and after taking a walk in the village, Knossos which is very close awaits for a visit in the afternoon with less people. You can tour the Ancient Palace on your own or choose a guide at the entrance to show you around. Once you\u2019re done touring, Sissi is just 45km away.
