It is the biggest airport in Crete and the second busiest in Greece.

There are cafes inside the airport and outside where you can get a quick coffee and some snacks before or after your flight.

It is the third bigger international port in Greece and can dock very big cruise ship but also big cargo ships.
The port of Heraklion has daily boat connections with a big number of Aegean islands and Piraeus as well.
There is a daily connection with two ships to and from Piraeus port around 21:00 pm arriving in Piraeus around 6: a.m.
In addition, there is a connection to the Aegean islands with 2 other ships.
Twice in week there is connection with one boat to Kasos, Karpathos and Rhodes.
During the tourist season 3 or even 4 ships leave the port of Heraklion with the first stop being Santorini a very famous destination.
Also, from the port sail cruise ships, boats and day boat trips to explore the beautiful surroundings.
In the port there are 4 organized parking areas, passenger’s terminal with ferry companies’ offices and basic facilities like café, restaurant, rest rooms.
There is also taxi station, Red city tour busses, local buses and intercity busses connection.
Also a yellow line starts from the port and if you follow it will lead you to the centre of Heraklion.
