Sfakaki is a small seaside village in the prefecture of Rethymnon 72km away from Heraklion airport and 10km away from Rethymnon. On the beach in Sfakaki, from May to September, it is possible that you see sea turtles Caretta Caretta lay their eggs in the sand and for that reason some parts of the beach may be blocked for the visitors.

It is very famous for their plenty and very good organised villas with swimming pools but of course there is also quality hotels and Airbnb. There is a variety of restaurants, tavernas, cafes and bars as well as hotels, apartments, villas and studios to choose from. Because it is just outside the north national highway all touristic places are easily accessible.
